Today, we're diving into one of CARPRO’s more recent additions: CARPRO Release. This exciting new product was announced at SEMA 2022 and has quickly become a staple in a lot of detailers arsenals for both maintenance, and ceramic coatings. We're thrilled to dive deeper into it for you today and explain what it is and how it can be used.
What is CARPRO Release?
To really simplify it, CARPRO Release is a quick detailer. BUT there is more than meets the eye when it comes to it. Its original function was to help ceramic coating installers with one of the most difficult parts of the job. Delivery. More on that later . No matter what you do in detailing, a quick detailer is likely part of your toolkit. Whether or not you use ceramic coatings, CARPRO Release is a great addition to your detailing arsenal.

Key Uses of CARPRO Release
- Quick Detailer
- Essential for all detailers for a nice final shine, or for removing very light dusting on the surface.
- Release Agent
- Specifically useful in scenarios where a freshly coated car needs to be released into the environment before the coating is fully cured. Release acts as a protective barrier for the coating while curing.
Understanding CARPRO Release as a Ceramic Coating Release agent.
The name "Release" comes from its utility in situations where customers need their cars before the recommended curing time of a ceramic coating. Imagine a customer who wants their car back before the 24–48-hour cure time. The car must be moved from an environment-controlled shop to the outside environment, facing humidity changes and potential damage from bugs, rain, dirt and debris. CARPRO Release provides a protective layer to handle these situations until the coating underneath is fully cured.
CARPRO Release vs. CARPRO Reload
There is often confusion between CARPRO Release and CARPRO Reload, a product that has been popular for over a decade. CARPRO Reload can be used in a similar manner but does not fit the need for all coatings. Here's a quick comparison:
- CARPRO Reload: Utilized as a standalone sealant, a topper for ceramic coated cars, and applied on top of a ceramic coating after it has cured. CARPRO Reload has been used for years and became popular with the introduction to CARPRO UK 3.0. However, new technology found in new coatings can be affected by Reload during its curing process. It can have a detrimental effect on the coating if applied too quickly. Note, that if you are still using CQUARTZ UK 3.0, CARPRO Reload is perfectly safe to use and hour after install.
- CARPRO Release: Can be used a few hours after coating (CARPRO recommends four hours) to allow the car to be released into the environment before the coating is fully cured. This product works well with any coating from the CARPRO Line and can be a useful tool to deliver a ceramic coated vehicle back to the customer quickly. In addition to the “release” feature of the product it also serves as CARPROS first ready to use quick detailer. For those that are looking for a more economic option, we recommend CARPRO ECH2O.
How CARPRO Release Fits into the CARPRO Lineup
The biggest comparison customers make with CARPRO Release is with our other popular sealants and quick detailers.
CARPRO Release: Easiest to use, provides short-term protection. It fits within the CARPRO lineup as a quick detailer with very light protection, offering simplicity for those who may not need the full range of detailing products. If you already use Reload and don’t ceramic coat cars, you might not need Release. However, it remains a versatile option for many users.
CARPRO ECH2O: A concentrated quick detailer lasting a week to a month. Made more for cleaning and quick gloss.
CARPRO Elixir: Provides protection for a month or more with the ability to be used as a quick detailer. This product really bridges the gap between a sealant and a quick detailer.
CARPRO Reload 2.0: Offers 3+ months of protection and is a dedicated sealant. Reload 2.0 should not be used for any cleaning ability, but purely for protection.
Durability and Ease of Use
The main differences beyond durability and cleaning abilities are ease of use. CARPRO Release is the easiest product to use, while Elixir and Reload vary in complexity based on individual preference. The most similar product to Release is CARPRO ECH2O, with both being quick detailers— CARPRO ECH2O is concentrated, and Release is ready-to-use.
How to Use CARPRO Release
Tools You Need:
- Microfiber towel (such as Crazy Pile Towel, CARPRO Boa Towel, or Two Face Towel) Anything that is safe for paint with a decent pile will work perfectly.
Steps:
- Spray: Apply a fine mist of CARPRO Release directly onto the towel or paint.
- Buff: Spread and buff the product into the surface until it disappears.
- Final Buff: For extra assurance, flip the towel and give it a final buff to avoid streaks.
Pro Tip: If you use a bit too much product, make sure to flip the towel and use the other side to finish.
Final Thoughts
CARPRO Release is an excellent addition to any detailer's toolkit, offering ease of use and effective protection. Whether you're dealing with ceramic coatings or just need a reliable quick detailer, CARPRO Release is worth considering. Its versatility and convenience make it a standout product in the CARPRO lineup, ensuring your vehicle looks its best with minimal effort.
