Flexible Backing Plate for Dual Action Polishers 3"
Lake Country puts forth a lot of effort in manufacturing and fabricating quality backing plates just as they do with their foam pads. It's crucial that a backing plate spins true! If it is not symmetrical then it wobbles at slow speeds, and becomes more than a simple annoyance at higher speeds.
When polishing with a machine it's always wise to leave a margin between edge of pad and edge of backing plate. When polishing up to an edge or near perpendicular surface you must NEVER allow a spinning backing plate to come in contact with the surface. That's why we always recommend using a pad slightly larger than the backing plate. This 2 7/8" diameter backing plate is designed for use with 3" to 3 1/2" buffing pads.
