MTM Hydro Stainless Steel QC Nozzles - Choose Orifice & Degree
MTM Hydro's Stainless Steel QC Nozzles offer superior performance and extended life as a result of their refined manufacturing process. This premium nozzle is 100% tested for orifice accuracy and degree setting so you never have to worry about using an inaccurate nozzle. In addition to the meticulous testing process, MTM Hydro nozzles are manufactured with striations in the stainless steel to securely hold the pressed head of the nozzle and eliminate the possibility of the colored head falling off, as with competing models. All MTM Hydro nozzles are laser etched along the neck with degree and size of the nozzle.
Important Information:
Every pressure washer is unique, each having its own PSI (Pressure per Square Inch) and GPM (Gallons Per Minute) rating. These two factors dictate the orifice size that is perfect for your pressure washer.
Use the MTM Hydro Calculator to make sure this nozzle is sufficient for your pressure washer setup. Enter your rated gpm and psi of your pressure washer. Once the "Nozzle Size" has populated, round to the nearest available size. This will prevent backloading your pressure washer and damaging your machine. It will also ensure you are retaining the right amount of pressure to use all your accessories properly.
Why Nozzle Size Matters:
-
Too large of an orifice → Reduces pressure too much, leading to ineffective cleaning.
-
Too small of an orifice → Increases pressure beyond safe limits, restricting water flow and potentially damaging the pump.
For vehicle washing, the ideal balance is Low PSI (1000-1200 PSI) with the highest GPM possible to maximize cleaning efficiency without excessive pressure. While the MTM chart is a great starting point, small adjustments may be needed based on your specific pressure washer model. Always ensure your PSI does not exceed your machine’s rated working pressure.
